The frontier of data analysis is rapidly evolving with the integration of Artificial Intelligence. On October 30, 2024, PhD candidate Otajon Otabekov guided the Westminster International University in Tashkent community through this new landscape in his seminar, “Using GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) for Data Analysis.”
Moving past the common perception of GPT as merely a chatbot, Mr. Otabekov presented its potent capabilities for cleaning data, coding, visualizing results, and even writing sections of academic papers. He provided practical examples and use-cases, demonstrating how this technology can significantly enhance research efficiency and depth.
A key part of the discussion was a balanced look at the challenges, including ensuring data privacy, mitigating model biases, and the necessity for researchers to maintain critical oversight. The engaging session concluded with a Q&A, where attendees explored the future implications of AI in their respective fields of study.
The event underscored WIUT's active role in facilitating discussions on cutting-edge tools that shape the future of research and industry practices.
