Doctoral project
The title of the dissertation is “Museum Management: Current Challenges and Prospects”.
The significance of museums in preserving cultural heritage and promoting education is universally acknowledged, yet in Uzbekistan, the role of museums has been challenged by rapid socio-economic changes and globalization. Museums face challenges in remaining relevant and engaging in a digital age, necessitating a thorough examination of modern management and marketing strategies. Uzbekistan has identified cultural heritage preservation, tourism development, and technological integration as key priority areas for science and technology. Over the past three years, a lot of legal documents have been adopted to reform the culture and art and tourism sectors in Uzbekistan. As a result, important changes are taking place in this sector, particularly in museums. The current status of museum management highlights several issues, including declining visitor numbers, insufficient funding, and a lack of innovative marketing strategies and the need for effective digital engagement.
This thesis addresses the necessity to explore innovative management and marketing strategies that can enhance museum operations, attract diverse audiences, ensuring their sustainability and relevance in contemporary society. By exploring the intersections of museum management, marketing, and technology, the study will enhance the institution's academic portfolio and contribute to its mission of advancing knowledge in the field. The primary aim of this research is to investigate the challenges faced by museums in Uzbekistan and to develop effective management and marketing strategies that can enhance their operational success and community engagement.
