Title: Econometric Modeling of Child Well-being Determinants in Uzbekistan: Evidence from MICS Dataset
This research investigates the key socio-economic determinants of child well-being in Uzbekistan, using nationally representative data from the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS). The project aims to apply robust econometric techniques to identify and quantify the impact of factors such as household income, parental education, access to healthcare, and regional disparities on child health, education, and general welfare outcomes.
Child well-being is a multidimensional concept encompassing health status, nutritional level, access to quality education, and protection from violence or exploitation. While global literature has extensively examined these dimensions, there remains a significant gap in evidence-based research focused specifically on post-Soviet and Central Asian contexts, especially Uzbekistan. This study seeks to fill that gap by offering localized insights supported by empirical evidence.
The research uses both cross-sectional and panel regression models, employing MICS microdata to identify causal and correlative relationships. It also explores spatial and gender-based disparities, providing policy-relevant conclusions for improving child-focused programs. Findings will inform government agencies, NGOs, and international development partners working to enhance children’s quality of life in Uzbekistan.
