Doctoral project

The title of the dissertation is “Econometric analysis of Special Economic Zones on Economic Growth in Uzbekistan”.
Special economic zones (SEZs) are an important tool for accelerating economic growth, attracting foreign investment, and creating new jobs. In the context of Uzbekistan, SEZs are important as a key component of economic diversification and industrialization policy. To date, a comprehensive empirical study of the impact of SEZs on economic growth has not been conducted sufficiently. The study of this topic will contribute to increasing investment efficiency, optimizing SIZ development policies, and contributing to economic development under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At the same time, it is relevant to analyze the possibilities of transferring technologies through SEZs and strengthening integration with international markets.
Uzbekistan ranks 89th among 123 countries in the world in terms of the number of SEZs. Research conducted in the country on the effectiveness of SEZs is limited, and an in-depth empirical study of the impact on economic indicators has not been sufficiently conducted. Forth is reason, a scientific approach to the mechanisms for achieving economic growth through SEZs is necessary.
